Competitive Landscape

• How do I use the Competitive Landscape charts and graphs?

  The Competitive Landscape charts and graphs highlight your best performing keywords and your competitors' activity on those keywords.

  • Share of Search Coverage: This pie chart illustrates your competitors' use of your best-performing keywords.
  • Keyword Competitors and Positions: This graph displays an analysis of competitors appearing on your top 100 keywords.
  • Your Average Rank over Time: This graph displays an analysis of your Google AdWords and Yahoo! Marketing Solutions performance data to calculate and display your average ad rank.
  • Common Keywords Detail Report: This chart examines the keywords you have in common with your competitors.

• How frequently is the Competitive Landscape updated?

  WebVisible Enterprise retrieves your data each morning.

• Which search networks are reflected in the Competitive Landscape?

  All charts and graphs reflect advertising data gathered from Google.com; Average Rank Over Time includes both Google and Yahoo! data.

• My Competitive Landscape charts are not updating. Is something wrong?

  If you have paused your campaign we cannot gather data to update the Competitive Landscape. Please review your campaign to make sure the settings are correct.

• How do I use the Share of Search Coverage chart?

  This pie chart shows your Google AdWords competitors' use of your best-performing keywords. For each of your top keywords, we review your competitors' top ranked ad impressions. The number of times those advertisers appear on keyword searches for your common keywords is displayed as a percentage of total possible ad impressions.

  Your site will most likely appear on this chart, since your ads display on most (if not all) of your own keywords. You should have the highest or near-highest brand contribution. However, if you have a significant number of keywords appearing in the 31st or lower paid positions, your brand contribution will be lower.

• How do I use the Keyword Competitors and Positions graph?

  This graph displays your ad's average rank over the past week on Google and Yahoo!. Google AdWords campaigns are tracked with a dark green line and Yahoo! Search Marketing Panama campaigns with a dark purple line; both reflect a 7-day moving average to smooth out any short-term fluctuations.

  Actual data from your Google AdWords and Yahoo! Search Marketing Panama campaigns are tracked in light green and light purple, respectively.

  You can use this graph in conjunction with your performance data to see the impact of your ad's average rank on click-through and conversion rates.

• How do I use the Common Keywords Detail Report?

  WebVisible Enterprise reviews Google AdWords advertisers that have a portion of your 100 most profitable keywords to find the number of times their ads appeared for a particular keyword and their average Rank is the search results. Select “View” to see your competitor's keywords.

  You can use the Top Keywords tool to review the content of these ads.
